Jenny Linfords - Let the seas calm
Song: Let the seas calm
Artist: Jenny Linfords
Album: ? (unknown)
Genre: Folk
Year: 2005Surfing on the web, I've discovered this girl. I've not been able to find any information about a full album composed, so I guess she has just written a few songs (you can find them free at her web site)... but what a few songs! Since the first time I've heard this live performance I've felt in love with her astonishing voice (it reminds me somehow to Joni Mitchell [previous post]). I need more of her stuff right now!
(Artist official web) (People opinions at Amazon.com)(Wiki link)
She also has a blog, more actualized than her official web.

Archive - System
Song: System
Artist: Archive
Album: Lights
Genre: Trip-Hop
Year: 2006Since I discovered that the song used at the new Meetic ad was an advance of the new Archive album, I was waiting for it anxiously. Now that it's in my hands (it was released in May), I must admit that it hasn't disappointed me at all. The song used on that spot gives its name to the album [track Lights played live], but it's 18:29 minutes long (instead of the 30 seconds version used on the tv spot).

Silverchair - Emotion Sickness
Song: Emotion Sickness
Artist: Silverchair
Album: Neon Ballroom
Genre: Alternative Rock
Year: 1999When I discovered this band five years ago I couldn't realize that these guys where the ones who composed such an incredible song. I mean, the voice doesn't fit with their appearance at all, and the music played too. I thought their look would be quite different (something more similar as it is nowadays). Appearances are defective.

Pierre Garand - A boire
Song: A boire
Artist: Pierre Garrand
Album: Nore-Dame de Paris
Genre: Musical, French
Year: 2000I've been really busy so I haven't been able to post anything for a week. And the better way to make up for my mistake could be writting about the second song from this incredible musical. The more I listen to it... the more I love it!
Previous Post: Bruno Pelletier - Lune
As I did the other time, here are the lyrics (french, of course):Pitié pour le pauvre Quasimodo
qui porte déjà sur son dos
tout les malheurs du monde
et qui ne vous demande
qu'une goutte d'eau
Pitié badauds
pour votre bedeau
une goutte d'eau
pour Quasimodo
à boire!!
donez-moi à boire !!!
à boire!! à boire !!
donez-moi à boire

Smashing Pumpkins - Ava Adore
Song: Ava Adore
Artist: Smashing Pumpkins
Album: Adore
Genre: Alternative Rock
Year: 1998I know it's a great song that all of you will know (at least, I hope so - if not... what are you waiting for? Go now and get the album! - ), but have you realized that it has took me almost a year to post it? And what about its video? Just amazing.

There is a comment at YouTube.com that describes quite well what this song means for music lovers (and SP fans too): "ava adore is like a nightmare I would have nothing against to have every night". Lovely.

Gnarls Barkley - Crazy
Song: Crazy
Artist: Gnarls Barkley
Album: St. Elsewhere
Genre: R&B
Year: 2006Strange voice for a man, isn't it? I think it gives them a different touch. It's one of those voices that you would recognize everywhere. I laughed a lot when I saw them at the MTV [wiki] 2006 Awards playing this song dressed on a Star Wars [wiki] way: really funny [YouTube.com].

Starsailor - In The Crossfire
Song: In The Crossfire
Artist: Starsailor
Album: On The Outside
Genre: Alternative Rock
Year: 2005I blame myself. What has happened to me? Why I haven't heard anywhere that they had a new album? After listening this track, I have some encountered opinions (heads and tails):
(Artist official web) (People opinions at Amazon.com) (Wiki link)
# Head: I love it! Simple as they only know how to do it, but intense 'till the end. Since the first time you hear it, the melody surrounds your mind all along the day.
# Tail: Where is Starsailor? Where is this dramatic and paused band that I admired?
I guess I'll have to listen the hole album to get a final decision about what they have done in his third studio album... we'll see.

Bent - Swollen
Song: Swollen
Artist: Bent
Album: Programed Love
Genre: Ambient, Chill
Year: 2001I've never been at Ibiza [wiki], but I will. It's one of those places you have to go. I just can't imagine what could you feel sitting on Cafe del Mar [wiki] beach, taking your first drink before an awesome night-party, watching the sunset while some chill music (like this one) sounds on background. It's something you have to do at least once!

I have a friend who is there right now. I hope he has done a great documentary about it!

The Black Eyed Peas - Pump It
Song: Pump It
Artist: The Black Eyed Peas
Album: Monkey Business
Genre: Hip-Hop, R&B
Year: 2005I'll never get tired saying that hip-hop is a genre that I don't like quite much, but sometimes some tunes pick up my attention. I think that using the Misirlou - Dick Dale & His Del-Tones [wiki] version song used on Pulp Fiction [wiki | imdb] is a smart idea.

Fun Lovin' Criminals - Love Unlimited
Song: Love Unlimited
Artist: Fun Lovin' Criminals
Album: 100% Colombian
Genre: Ambient
Year: 1998I was whiling to post a Barry White [wiki] song when I've remembered this cool tribute from Fun Lovin' Criminals. Even the song's title is part of the tribute: it's the name of the Orchestra he conducted.
